KANGAROO LEATHER
Commitment to sustainability is our design ethos. A primary material we work with to support our studio’s sustainable and ethical initiatives is kangaroo leather.
Kangaroos are wild, not farmed, and populations are carefully managed in Australia to maintain ecological balance. Using kangaroo leather ensures that we’re working with a renewable, naturally sourced unique material, which doesn’t contribute to livestock pollution. Kangaroo leather has more strength and resistance to stretching/tearing than cowhide, for long lasting and high quality pieces. We employ hand stitching techniques on many of our leather pieces for quality and to showcase our artisan craftsmanship.
We specifically source the most unique kangaroo hides which bring out the natural grain texture of each skin, with natural markings and shadings left to enhance the pieces’ distinctive quality. By working closely with local suppliers, we ensure our materials align with sustainable and ethical fashion practices, supporting slow fashion principles, and showcasing the natural beauty of the Australian fauna.
